Lucky's Birthday turned out great! I was really worried about the weather because it's been literally raining every afternoon, but thank God the day of his party was beautiful! We had a great afternoon filled with balloons, great food, family, friends and sunshine. My mom and cousin Athena flew in from Ohio to celebrate with us and it was sooo nice spending time with everyone! I did the last of my shopping on Wednesday and cooked all day Thursday and Friday. Friday night we left and Saturday morning I added the finishing touches on a few things and decorated the cake (baked on Friday). I was super nervous and as much fun as it was I will never transport a cake with more than two tiers again!
The kids built sandcastles, painted seashells and had water balloon fights until the sun went down. They feasted on Octo-dogs and Seaweed
We had a blast and the next day was his nameday, so we had a double celebration weekend. I've been very fortunate to have both of my boys born very close to their namedays. I keep saying I'm going to start downsizing the birthday parties and making a bigger deal out of their namedays, especially since they fall so close together anyway. After all was said and done I was hit with the cold, hard truth. My baby's not a baby anymore. :*( Now that's a whole 'nother post....

That's a heck of a cake
Wow! What an amazing cake and party. I'm very uncreative but you've done such a great job.
I know what you mean about your babies growing up. (sniff, sniff). It does happen too fast.
I am so bummed that I missed my nephews 1st birthday! however, everything was soooo adorable, what a creative sister I have! I love the shark cupcakes! YUM!
Where's Panteleimon? I'm sure you have lots of photos of him... Did he love his cake? It turned out beautifully!
Yesterday, my husband and brother-in-law had to transport my sister's wedding cake...3 tiers. Thankfully it went well, but YEAH, it was scary!
