Learn to Make Prayer Ropes {Workshop}

Just a quick note, I am off to celebrate my birthday with a nice afternoon at the monastery. 🙂

I wanted to post very quickly that I am *finally* going to attempt a video on how to tie prayer ropes. I mentioned doing this ages ago but couldn’t figure out how to do it. I think I have it figured out now, so I’m going to give it a whirl.

The video itself will not be posted until probably next week but I will be posting a supply list and some background information on prayer ropes and the Jesus Prayer shortly.

If you are interested in learning please leave a comment so I have an idea of how many people will be joining us!

  1. Happy Birthday! Many Years!I recently learned how to tie prayer ropes from online videos and text instructions. Since then, it has become a great enjoyment for me; also, they make great gifts (what could be better than the gift of prayer?). I am planning on making a bunch so that I can sell them in the Church bookstore with the proceeds going to alms/charity. I highly recommend learning this skill to all! God bless all the efforts of prayer!

  2. Wow, how wonderful. Count me in too! Thank you so much Sylvia and Happy Birthday. May God grant you many years!Maria Sarantis (from St. Nicholas-Tarpon Springs) sorry cant figure out my google acct info so i have to leave as anonymous.

  3. Happy Belated Birthday Sylvia, polixroni! May Panagia be with you always. You are such a giving person and reach so many with your creativity and sharing your experiences and thoughts, may you always be blessed.

  4. oooh, I'm a little late but I am definitely on board. I have always thought a prayer rope would be too complicated for me to do but I have seen children prayerfully complete them so perhaps I can too! (Happy Belated Birthday!)

  5. A superb idea, its very purifying to the mind when making a prayer rope.I learned it was a great way to relieve stress.You can find a great video that shows you how to tie one on Youtube. But it would be nicer if you would make one. To ad the personal touch.Just a note: Love you Orthodox Blog
