Tim Tebow's Super Bowl Commercial

I seriously cannot believe some people had a problem with this commercial:

"Wow. Gloria Allred threatened to sue CBS over this? I wonder if she's embarrassed today," Tebow wrote after seeing the ad.

Seriously?? CBS received all those threats over those 32 seconds? I loved seeing Tebow promoting, not only a pro-life ad, but a healthy relationship with his mother. We have enough celebrities playing the role of the tough guy who has no feelings or fears, I think it's high time we have someone depicting a nice, clean-cut, all around good guy for kids to look up to. I thought the ad was fantastic.

It's amazing that the only ad the feminist organizations found offensive was the one promoting life. It's perfectly fine to portray women as oppressive wives, sex objects or airheads but heaven forbid women are encouraged to keep their unborn babies alive.... And perhaps someone could correct me but doesn't pro-choice mean they will support either choice a woman makes? Sure doesn't look that way, does it? But don't you dare call them pro-abortion--after all, it's not politically correct. Maybe they would have accepted it if Tebow's mom were wearing a bikini and serving beer. That would appropriately represent us as women, right?

I missed the beginning of the commercial during the Super Bowl but I did youtube it this morning and I really can't believe that there was such a fuss over it. Shame on them...ooh, I get so upset about this.

Check out Focus on the Family, the organization who sponsored Tebow's commercial, here. Be sure to watch the incredible interview with his parents!

**UPDATE: Check out this AWESOME article from a pro-choice advocate in defense of Tebow's harsh criticism and commercial! I encourage you to send Sally Jenkins, the author of the article, a few kind words of support.

It doesn't even promote life explicitly, only by implication.

What they're upset about, I heard somewhere, is that their pro-abortion ad was NOT accepted one year. They think there is some discrimination going on here, some lack of equal "rights."

That's so ridiculous. Those people fighting so hard for equal rights need to remember that part of those rights includes the opportunity to reject certain beliefs as well. Accepting all of their opinions and actions does not make it equal for us.

So sick of this age of political correctness and equality. Wrong is not equal to right and never will be...

Everyone at our house agrees with you. We love the ad...and hope to see more of them. We don't even watch the Superbowl, but are very glad you posted this. It was part of our homeschool today!:)

It was beautiful and simple. This is my first glimpse into the football world as we don't get "into" it. I thought all that happened last week...in January. Why is it in February?

After hearing about that, I had a friend who commented that feminists wanted the freedom to choose, but in reality, they just want the right to abort. So sad...

What they want is the "right" to be promiscuous - without having to worry about children.

That's what makes it so tough to argue with them, because they will not state their true agenda, and if you do, they land all over you like a swarm of angry hornets.

And there's another very ugly element in this, too, an elitist one, even a racist one. It goes like this: Let poor women, and especially poor black women, abort as many babies as they like! The fewer of them, the better, is their attitude. Who needs the underclasses to be multiplying, while we pay taxes to pay for more and more welfare families?
