Psalter Group Sign-Ups {Nativity 2016}

Nativity Psalter Groups

Can you believe the Nativity fast begins tomorrow? It does! I just love this time of year so much. Time to slow down and savor every word of the Psalms while preparing for Christ’s Nativity.

Psalter Groups have been one of my favorite things during the 40-day fasts for many years now. The readings are a quiet time that I can look forward to each day. And by quiet, I don’t mean the things around me are quiet, those things rarely are, but rather the hush that comes over my soul whenever I open my Psalter and read.

The last few times, I periodically posted some various writings on why reading the Psalms is so beneficial and I’ll be doing that again this time as well. There are some really beautiful thoughts on this. God-willing they will strengthen and encourage us as we prepare to receive Christ this Nativity season. So please keep an eye out for those!

You may also want to check out this post on The Benefits of Psalter Groups.

So if you’re interested in joining please leave YOUR BAPTISMAL NAME AND EMAIL ADDRESS in the comment section of this post. Be sure to leave BOTH because I oftentimes use your email address to differentiate between others with the same name.

I will have the groups and everyone’s assigned readings up between by end of day tomorrow to give everyone time to sign up since I was late in posting this sign up post. But don’t worry, if you stumble upon this post after the fast has begun, you can still sign up. It’s never too late to join in!

You can purchase a pocket Psalter here.  You can also use the Book of Psalms in your Bible for your daily readings!

    Thank you!

  3. Sylvia, thank you for your lovely blog. I appreciate what you do. I just read that it’s not too late to sign up for Psalter reading. I tried to go to the correct place to do that.

    1. Sylvia, I am responding to my original request to join the psalter group, in an effort to facilitate you being able to add me to the group. I still haven’t received any emails. Sara

      1. Hi Sara, there are no emails involved! I only ask for email addresses to differentiate between members with the same first name! You are in Group Six! Check the Assignment post to see exactly where you should be. We started from the beginning again on December 6, so today you’ll be two past whatever number you were supposed to start on! For example, if you are #5 you’ll be reading Kathisma 7 today. If you have any questions let me know! 🙂
