My problem, an...</title><content type='html'>I think these are fantastic ideas.  My problem, and possibly that of others, is that my son and I are the only two Orthodox Christians in the family. These things have to be gently introduced in a secular family so that others will not harm themselves by deriding the things of faith.  I will note my son&amp;#39;s nameday next year, and mine, with a small celebration.  A special meal, a cake with the family, and tell him of his Saint. What we did was throw a first birthday and then from now on we throw a nameday party.  There is nothing wrong with celebrating both, and since they are close together, I would do both on the same day but emphasize the nameday.
