Great Lent Poster

It's hard to believe that we are already so close to the Lenten season! It feels like Christmas was just yesterday! I started getting our Lenten activities together and I hope to start figuring out a menu for dinner. I try to plan 10 meals at a time, it makes it much easier for me to keep the meals enjoyable. Otherwise I can't decide what to make and we end up eating pasta a' la something every night. I'll post the meals and finished activities once we get started so check back for some of our favorite recipes and craft projects and feel free post some of your favorites! This past Sunday I took Ace to Sunday school for the first time. He had such a great time! We decided when moving to live near the monasteries that attending the Divine Liturgy and other services was top priority for our children.  The monasteries do not have Sunday School classes, neither do the few parishes in our area and so this was a fun little treat for him. They made this little board out of poster paper and in the center they glued a cross that said "Great Lent". Then on either side of it they pasted the words "Do more of..." and "Do less of...." and pasted various pictures of different activities such as pray more, watch less tv, help others, etc. and food items like ice cream (less of) and pb & j. They discussed each item then pasted them under the appropriate heading. It was really cute. How do you all prepare for Lent?
